Since 2020, LumiHealth has been a cornerstone of Singapore's fight against chronic disease and towards better wellness, made possible through our exciting partnership with Apple. Using the Apple Watch, LumiHealth brought together fun challenges, personalised health tips, and meaningful rewards to encourage Singaporeans to move more, sleep better, and build lasting healthy habits.

Over the years, LumiHealth grew to serve more than 377,000 Singaporeans, turning everyday activities into opportunities for better health. Together, we celebrated countless personal victories: first 10,000-step days, improved sleep routines, and stronger family bonds through shared health goals. LumiHealth also played an important role during the COVID-19 pandemic, helping to keep our community active and engaged even during difficult times.

As we look to the future, we are excited to bring together the best of what we've learnt into the Healthy 365 app — HPB's home-grown platform for health and wellness. Don't Just Take Our Word For It: The Evidence

How effective are digital health programmes like LumiHealth? Swiss Re, a leading global reinsurer, independently analysed anonymised data from 30,000 LumiHealth participants over two years.

The results were encouraging:

  • 22% increase in average daily active calories burned — equivalent to about 20 extra minutes of moderate-to-vigorous activity, such as brisk walking or Zumba, a day.

  • Biggest gains among those who needed it most: older adults, those who were overweight or obese, and people who were previously inactive.

  • Estimated mortality risk reduction of 3% to 13% — and up to 20% for at-risk groups — if healthier habits are sustained over the long term.

These findings suggest that simply staying engaged with an app — LumiHealth users checked in about 2.3 days a week on average — can translate into real, measurable steps towards a longer, healthier life.

Note: These are modelled estimates based on short-term data (5 months to 2 years) and assume improvements are sustained over time; actual results may vary by individual.
