Deloitte Consulting Singapore has chosen the promotion of a healthy lifestyle as one of its key community service endeavours this year, embracing a Healthy Together theme. The consultancy is partnering with the Health Promotion Board (HPB) to raise awareness of the happiness a healthy lifestyle can bring through a variety of fun and healthy IMPACT Day events.

IMPACT Day is a year-round celebration of Deloitte s commitment to community investment. Many Deloitte employees worldwide participate in IMPACT Day to help build brighter communities.

Healthy Together is the theme of HPB s upcoming National Healthy Lifestyle Campaign (NHLC) 2010, where all Singapore residents are inspired to share the joys of having a healthy lifestyle, especially when they do it together, across their social networks.

This year s IMPACT Day activities include a Race to Health and a nationwide photo competition titled Healthy Together . Race to Health is an Amazing Race-style event where volunteers from Deloitte Consulting Singapore have led by example to Stay strong, live long . Employees competed in challenges, geared towards physical fitness, at five checkpoints throughout Orchard Road, where their last pit stop was Plaza Singapura Tenants and Plaza Singapura management were key partners in this part of the event. To make this event more meaningful, volunteers had requested pledges for donation from friends, family members and colleagues to support their participation in the race. Proceeds of the Race to Health will go to the Singapore Children s Cancer Foundation.

To encourage the community to get Healthy Together and make healthier lifestyle choices, after the race volunteers gave away apples and brown rice to the public; shared with them the benefits of eating healthy; educated them about the Body Mass Index; and promoted HPB s Healthier Choice Symbols.

In order to engage the public to Stay strong, live long , Deloitte Consulting Singapore will host the Healthy Together photo competition. The competition, open to everybody until 05 November, encourages Singaporeans to capture their own versions of a healthy way of life. Send your pictures to: dcsea_impact@deloitte.com
